My name is Madison Miller and I'm a recent graduate from Penn State University. I received a degree in broadcast journalism, minor in media studies, and a certificate in sports studies. What led me to the field of sports journalism is my passion for sharing the stories of others. My dream job is creating multimedia content for a professional sports team.
Through my time at Penn State I immersed myself in the world of collegiate athletics. I secured a digital content internship with Penn State Athletics my freshman year. Through this internship I was able to cover various Penn State sports through social media and feature story writing. This experience was vital for my development of my on-air reporting. I then went on to the university's thirty-three sports teams through multimedia content. My favorite thing to do was interview student athletes on their stories and passion for their sport. I assisted in the Penn State Football's Unrivaled Pregame Show, and covered the football team at the 2023 Rose Bowl, producing content for all social media platforms. I have also worked as a sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network +, and arena emcee for the Penn State Men's Hockey and Softball teams!
Before Penn State I attended Seneca high school, where I was immersed into the field of broadcasting. My freshman year I was the school's news anchor for morning show. At 16 years old I had my first high profile interview with former NBA player Chris Herren. From there I became a sports sideline reporter for Lenape District Television covering high school sports in South Jersey. During my senior year when COVID-19 struck, I created a weekly show that displayed virtual student activities. My goal was to provide light for others during a difficult time.
I am extremely thankful for all the opportunities I have been given and for the people who guided me along the way!
